About Nasser
Nasser Almulhim (born in Riyadh, 1988) is a painter and sculptor based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. Utilizing a bright, saturated colour palette inspired by the movement of Abstract Expressionism, Almulhim concentrates primarily on the interaction between geometric and organic shapes and their connection to one’s psyche. His practice assumes a playful and intuitive approach to art making, doubling as a therapeutic act that opens what the artist calls “The gate of self-healing.” His work represents his inner imagination and translates it into two- and three- dimensional works. He employs various methods to create this spiritual healing process between the within energy and universal power.
A principle theme in Nasser’s work is how spirituality relates to the human psyche, and how it could be represented visually. He’s interested in the immediate impact of forms and colours and how their relationship can create rhythmic energies and speak of the inner emotions of the human psyche. He also examines the study of colours in relation to human behaviour, and the ways in which they can touch us energetically and psychologically. He aims to express these elements through his artworks.
